Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Farbound Travels (“Farbound”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By submitting an enquiry, booking a journey, making a payment, or using our website/portal, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). These Terms form the contract between you and the Farbound entity shown on your quote, invoice, and/or confirmation.

WHO WE ARE & HOW FARBOUND WORKS

Farbound designs and operates private journeys across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. “Private” means your journey is built and delivered for your travelling party only (solo, couple, family, friends, or a private group travelling together). We do not add unrelated travellers to your itinerary.

Contact: support@farboundtravels.com

(include your booking reference where applicable). On-trip support contacts are shared before arrival.

HOW A BOOKING IS CONFIRMED (ENQUIRY → QUOTE → CONFIRMATION)

You submit an enquiry for a listed journey (as designed) or request tailoring (pace, interests, hotel level, routing, guides, extensions). Farbound shares a proposal and a price quote. Revisions may be requested until you are ready to confirm. Your booking is confirmed only when payment is received and Farbound issues written confirmation. Until written confirmation is issued, services may remain subject to availability and supplier confirmation.

WHAT’S INCLUDED (AND WHAT ISN’T)

Your inclusions are defined by the final itinerary and the “What’s Included / Not Included” lists shown on your journey page and/or quote.

Generally included when stated on your itinerary/quote: accommodation as quoted; chauffeured ground transport for included movements and sightseeing; guiding as stated (local guides and/or an escorting tour director where quoted); entrance fees and experiences listed as included; meals listed as included; flights that are part of your itinerary and explicitly included (e.g., domestic sectors within India, and intra-trip international sectors such as India–Nepal when included in your itinerary).

Generally excluded unless explicitly included: international flights to reach the start of the journey and to return home (always excluded unless explicitly stated otherwise); visas and immigration requirements; travel insurance; tips/gratuities (unless explicitly included); personal expenses (laundry, minibar, alcohol unless explicitly included, shopping, personal services); optional upgrades or add-ons not listed as included; any item not shown as included in your final itinerary/quote.

ELIGIBILITY & TRAVELLER INFORMATION

The lead traveller must be 18+. Minors must travel with a parent/guardian or with required consents. You are responsible for sharing accurate traveller details required for bookings (names as per passport, dates of birth where required, nationality, passport details, etc.). You are responsible for disclosing any conditions that may affect participation (mobility limitations, serious allergies, pregnancy, medical needs) early enough for us to assess feasibility. Special requests (dietary, accessibility, bedding, connecting rooms, specific hotels, specific guides/languages) are welcomed but are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.

PRICING, CURRENCY, TAXES & ACCURACY

Quotes may be issued in USD and/or INR depending on payer and payment route. Your invoice shows the processing currency for each payment. Currency conversion (where applicable) is handled by the payment provider and/or your bank at their prevailing rates. Taxes are charged where applicable and will be shown on your invoice. For India-issued invoices, GST may apply (currently 5% where applicable). If a material pricing error is discovered before payment, we will correct it and seek your approval. If discovered after payment and it materially impacts the booking, we will offer you the choice to accept the correction or cancel the affected portion for a refund of amounts paid for that affected portion (excluding non-refundable supplier costs already incurred, if any, which will be documented).

PAYMENTS

Farbound currently confirms bookings on full payment, unless your written quote states otherwise. Accepted payment methods: card payments and bank transfer (availability depends on invoice entity and payer location). Any bank fees or card fees charged by your bank/payment provider are your responsibility. Farbound does not add payment-mode surcharges unless clearly disclosed on the invoice/checkout.

HOTELS, ROOMING & CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Hotels are confirmed subject to availability at the time of booking. If a listed or proposed hotel is unavailable, we may substitute a comparable alternative of similar quality and location. Rooming can be arranged as double, twin, single, family, or interconnecting rooms where available and requested. Availability varies by hotel and season. Early check-in/late check-out are not guaranteed unless confirmed by the hotel. Where needed, we may recommend (or quote) a pre-night, post-night, or day-use room.

FLIGHTS, BAGGAGE & TRANSPORT

Any flights included in your itinerary will be booked by Farbound as stated in your quote/itinerary. Airline baggage rules vary by carrier and fare type. Any excess baggage charges are paid by the traveller unless explicitly included. Ground transport is private and chauffeured. Vehicle type depends on route, group size, luggage, and local conditions. Upgrade requests can be quoted.

GUIDES, TOUR DIRECTORS & ON-TRIP SUPPORT

Many experiences are delivered with licensed local guides in each destination. If your quote includes an escorting tour director/trip lead for all or part of the journey, this will be stated clearly. On-trip operational support is provided throughout the journey. A 24/7 support contact is shared before arrival.

CHANGES REQUESTED BY YOU (DATES / ROUTE / TRAVELLERS)

Because journeys are private and supplier-led, changes can trigger supplier penalties and repricing. Date changes, route changes, and material itinerary changes are subject to availability and re-quotation. Name corrections and traveller substitutions are subject to supplier rules (especially flights and permit-controlled services). Any change is confirmed only when acknowledged in writing by Farbound. Additional supplier costs triggered by changes are payable by the traveller.

SPECIAL COMPONENTS (STRICT-TERM ITEMS)

Some components carry strict supplier terms and may be non-refundable once booked. Examples include flights, permit-controlled services, safaris with limited inventory, charter services, special event tickets, and peak-season hotel commitments. Where Special Components apply, we will flag them in writing at the time of quoting/confirmation.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS (PRIVATE JOURNEYS)

Cancellations must be requested in writing to support@farboundtravels.com

from the lead traveller (or authorised advisor, if applicable). The effective cancellation date is when we receive the email. Any non-refundable or time-bound supplier charges already incurred are deducted from any refund due. We will share a documented basis for such deductions.

Standard cancellation schedule (applies to the total trip price paid to Farbound, excluding supplier strict-terms items which follow supplier rules):

60+ days before Day 1: refund of amount paid minus documented supplier costs already incurred (if any) and a reasonable administration charge for processing and bank/payment fees where applicable.

31–59 days before Day 1: up to 50% refundable, minus documented supplier costs and applicable administration/payment fees.

15–30 days before Day 1: up to 25% refundable, minus documented supplier costs and applicable administration/payment fees.

0–14 days before Day 1: non-refundable, except where suppliers return funds (if any) after deductions.

If your booking includes Special Components, those items may be non-refundable regardless of the above schedule.

CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS BY FARBOUND

Operational realities may require adjustments (weather, safety, government orders, supplier failure, events, local closures). We may substitute routes, timings, hotels, vehicles, or activities with comparable alternatives. If a change materially reduces the value of a confirmed booking and no reasonable alternative is acceptable, Farbound will offer an appropriate remedy for the affected portion, which may include rebooking or refund of recoverable amounts (subject to supplier rules).

FORCE MAJEURE

Farbound is not responsible for failure to perform where prevented by events beyond reasonable control (including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, strikes, epidemics/pandemics, government restrictions, border closures, or supplier shutdowns). Where force majeure materially affects your trip, we will work to offer reasonable alternatives. Refunds (if any) depend on what suppliers return and what has already been committed.

REFUND METHOD & TIMELINES

Refunds are processed to the original payment method and currency where possible. Banks/payment providers control FX on the day of refund and may apply their own timelines. If the original method is unavailable, refunds may be processed by bank transfer with your written consent; bank and compliance costs are passed at cost. Farbound will initiate approved refunds promptly after final computation of supplier deductions (if any).CANCELLATIONS BY YOU & REFUNDS

Cancellations must be requested in writing by the lead traveller (or authorised advisor) to support@farboundtravels.com

. The effective cancellation date is when we receive your email.

Farbound journeys are built from pre-booked services. In most cases, hotels, flights, transport, guides, safaris, permits, and key experiences are confirmed and paid in advance to secure availability. As a result, most trip costs become non-refundable once confirmed with suppliers.

Refunds (if any) are limited to the amounts Farbound can recover from suppliers, minus any non-recoverable fees, payment processing charges, and administration required to unwind bookings. Farbound will make reasonable efforts to recover value where possible, but you should assume that recovery may be limited.

Refund approach by timing:

If cancellation is requested 90 or more days before Day 1, any amounts that have not been committed to suppliers may be refundable. Examples of potentially refundable items (where not yet issued/committed) can include certain entry tickets and select uncommitted service portions. This is not a guarantee; it depends on what has already been booked and paid at the time of cancellation.

If cancellation is requested inside 90 days of Day 1, you should assume the trip is non-refundable. Where suppliers return funds (rare and supplier-dependent), Farbound will pass through recovered amounts after deductions described above.

Flights, safaris, permit-controlled services, peak-season hotel commitments, special events, charters, and any other strict-term items may be non-refundable at the point of booking regardless of when you cancel. Where strict terms apply, the supplier’s rule governs and can override the timing guidance above.

IF FARBOUND CANCELS OR THERE IS FORCE MAJEURE

(Keep your existing force majeure section structure, but ensure it references the policy page if you publish one. No change required here unless you want.)

HOW REFUNDS ARE PAID

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method and currency where possible. Banks and payment providers control their own timelines and exchange rates. If the original payment method is unavailable, refunds may be processed by bank transfer with your written consent; bank and compliance costs are passed at cost. Farbound will initiate refunds after supplier recovery is finalised and the refund amount is computed.

TRAVELLER RESPONSIBILITIES

You are responsible for passports, visas, permits, and compliance with immigration rules; travel insurance (strongly recommended); arriving on time for scheduled movements; conduct that is lawful and respectful of local rules and customs. Missed services caused by late arrival, refusal to participate, or document issues are non-refundable.

HEALTH, ACCESSIBILITY & RISK

Some destinations and sites may not meet wheelchair-access or ADA-equivalent standards. Certain activities (wildlife drives, boating, high altitude travel, treks, adventure activities) carry inherent risk. You agree to follow guide instructions and venue safety rules.

THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS

Farbound contracts with third-party suppliers (hotels, airlines, transport providers, guides, venues). Supplier terms may apply. Optional activities purchased directly by you on-site are outside Farbound’s responsibility.

ADVISOR BOOKINGS

If you book through a travel advisor, the advisor may act as your agent for communications and documentation unless you request otherwise. If a refund is due, advisor commissions (if applicable) may be adjusted accordingly.

PRIVACY & COMMUNICATIONS

We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. By booking, you consent to transactional communications required to deliver your journey (email/WhatsApp/SMS where relevant). Marketing preferences can be changed anytime.

PHOTOS, MEDIA & TESTIMONIALS

If you share photos/testimonials with Farbound or tag Farbound publicly, you grant Farbound a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that material for Farbound marketing, unless you opt out in writing.

CREDITS, VOUCHERS & GIFT CARDS

If Farbound issues credits or vouchers, their value, expiry, and rules will be stated in writing at the time of issuance. Unless stated otherwise, credits are not cash, not transferable, and may be non-refundable.

FRAUD, SECURITY & RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

We may conduct fraud checks and request verification/KYC. We may decline or cancel a booking/payment if required by law, sanctions, security obligations, or risk controls. Handling of paid amounts follows these Terms and applicable policy.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Farbound’s total liability for the affected booking is capped at the amount paid to Farbound for that affected booking. Farbound is not liable for indirect or consequential losses or for events beyond reasonable control. Nothing limits liability where prohibited by law.

INDEMNITY

You agree to indemnify Farbound against claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, negligence, or unlawful conduct.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Website content, itineraries, and materials are Farbound’s intellectual property or used with permission. You may not copy or commercialise them without written consent.

GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTES

These Terms are governed by the laws at the point of sale named on your invoice. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts/tribunals of that place, after a good-faith attempt to resolve the issue within 30 days of written notice.

NOTICES, ASSIGNMENT & UPDATES

Notices: support@farboundtravels.com

SEVERABILITY & ENTIRE AGREEMENT

If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains effective. These Terms, your final itinerary/quote, your invoice, and referenced policies form the entire agreement.
